CERAMIC

ga.li.go

The brand name “ga.li.go” is derived from the Pali word “galig,” meaning “due to time” or “depending on time.” Thus, “ga.li.go” signifies the idea of being in accordance with time.

Human beings consist of three elements: the mind, intellect, and body. These are combined with the four elements of nature: clay, water, wind, and fire, to create a singular entity—emptiness. Together, these eight elements give rise to a work of art. Each step in the creation of this art must follow the appropriate passage of time. The works thus represent the tangible communication of the time they have undergone. Just as the nature of ceramics changes with the passage of time, clay transforms into ceramic when exposed to fire at the right moment.
